Luke Anderson is a 24-year-old Scottish guitarist currently on the Master of Arts programme Royal Conservatoire Scotland (RCS). Luke is a recent graduate of the BMus Guitar programme and has had the privilege to receive lessons from Professor Allan Neave and Ian Watt.

Luke’s formal education began in 2015, when he attended the Junior Academy at RCS. He studied under the tutelage of composer and teacher Peter Stewart and in 2019 was accepted for full time study. Throughout this time Luke attended guitar festivals including the Big Guitar Weekend, Classical Guitar Retreat and Ullapool Guitar Festival.

Recent concert highlights include Glasgow Cathedral, St Giles Cathedral and Dundee St Paul’s. Most notably, Luke had the opportunity to represent RCS playing a selection of pieces at the renowned Wigmore Hall earlier this year.

As well as an in-demand performer Luke is also an educator. He holds teaching positions at prestigious schools; Hutchesons’ Grammar School and Edinburgh Academy. For the past two years Luke has been one of the tutors on the RCS Junior Guitar Summer School.

Passionate about inclusivity in music Luke has designed ‘Get into Guitar’ a new fair-access curriculum for RCS designed to introduce young people to the instrument.

Throughout his studies Luke has had the opportunity to receive masterclasses from renowned players such as Sean Shibe, Paul Galbraith, Stephanie Jones, René Izquierdo, Thomas Viloteau, Gabriel Bianco.
